The aura is not uniformly distributed across the body. It is concentrated in certain parts and appears like a vortex i.e. flowing in a circular manner. This appearance of the energy vortices is known as Chakras - which also means ‘wheels’ in Sanskrit.
Although there are numerous chakras in the body, seven of them govern the major life processes through seven endocrine glands.
How do chakras play a role in our life?
You are what you think. Normally, we have certain belief systems that we manifest. The way we perceive the world depends a lot on the beliefs we carry. In other words our outer world is a reflection of the world within. If we need to make a difference in our inner and outer world, we need to make a difference in our beliefs.
The seven major chakras represent our seven core attributes. They correspond to the seven steps of our spiritual, personal and organisational growth. When we dissolve blocks at the level of each chakra, we are essentially overcoming obstacles in our evolution and growth.
